Stephen Cali is the president of Cali & LaPlace Engineers, a Louisiana based civil/structural engineering firm with extensive experience in the Hurricane Katrina reconstruction efforts. He has been a professional engineer for 29 years and is licensed in seven states. Throughout his career, Mr. Cali has been involved with many civil and structural engineering projects including flood control structures for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, roadway and bridge projects for many state transportation departments, infrastructure projects for municipalities throughout Southeast Louisiana, and both residential and commercial real estate development projects.
Prior to Hurricane Katrina, he spent 25 years with several national engineering firms. Mr. Cali has been an integral part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Task Force Guardian and Task Force Hope in repairing and rebuilding the hurricane protection system. He has also provided structural engineering to many residents in the area as they rebuild their homes on the Gulf Coast.
